After the confrontation with TEQON yesterday I'm pretty wiped out. I've been quite aware of my speech and catching myself using phrases which can be misinterpreted. I don't think that I'm the rude angry violent person I got the impression she thought I was. I feel my actions are supportive of my teammates and my language respectful. With the people I consider friends my language is playful, which could be misinterpreted as disrespectful. For example, one of the guys here goes by Fitz. He often receives calls where the caller asks for 'Fitzy' or 'Fitzo', so I would turn to him and say, "Fitzy, phone." Sure the proper thing might be to refer to him as Mr. Fitzpatrick. It is difficult to figure out where to draw the line. Often what is acceptable within a group can seem very disrespectful when viewed from outside of the group dynamic.
