I stopped and gave a trio of hitchhikers a ride from Wheatland to Lincoln. The seems like you standard hippie druggie type of people. I left them at the Circle K in Lincoln. They were heading to Auburn and then to Placerville. I gave them my map of California to help them out. The smelled like they had been on the road for a while, which I had guessed based on the backpacks/sleeping bags/etc.
