Hmmm

Probably need a new user pic here...

Anyway... in a representative government... should your representative do what they think is right and want or should they do what the people want? They were elected to represent the people and if polls indicate the people want something shouldn't they try to give it to them?

So.. if New Yorkers(in general) are for gun control and their new senator is against gun control... is the senator supposed to do what they think is right regardless of public opinion(and get voted out in 6 years) or should they be doing what the people of the state want?

Has anyone run on a blank slate platform? Someone who won't push their own agendas at all and will just vow to do whatever the people want. Obviously they'd need lots of polling data to back their decision.. but that pretty much happens anyway.
