Trying to keep the man down...

Sounds like someone is sueing to have Obama removed from being a candidate because they claim he isn't a US citizen or that he filled out his forms wrong or something.

This motion argues that the facts have been established that Barack Obama is not constitutionally qualified to be elected or serve as President of the United States, and that the Court should issue a summary judgment as follows:

* That Barack Hussein Obama a/k/a Barry Hussein Obama a/k/a Barack Dunham a/k/a Barry Dunham a/k/a Barack Soetoro a/k/a Barry Soetoro is not a “natural born” or “naturalized” United States citizen.
* That he is ineligible to run for and/or serve as President of the United States.
* That the Democratic National Committee be enjoined from naming Barack Hussein Obama, et al as the Democratic Presidential Candidate on the ballot.
* That the Democratic National Committee and Barack Hussein Obama, et al are enjoined from any further campaigning on behalf of Barack Hussein Obama, et al for Office of the Presidency.
* That Barack Hussein Obama’s, et al name be removed from any and all ballots for the Office of the President of the United States.

If I apply for a job, I need to provide my SS#. Why doesn't Obama just pony up his birth certificate and all this drama can go away?

Some things, like tax forms and medical records, should be off limits. But birth certificates are directly related to the job. Not like its hard to get a copy. One quick phone call and I got mine in under a week.

I'm beginning to think this is actually just a scam to get people to the website to increase traffic and ad views. Usually you have show eligibility at the time you submit the signatures required to get on the ballot.

There you have an image of the original birth certificate. Likewise a bit of information regarding how he couldn't have been born in Kenya(because it didn't exist yet), etc.

its not a birth certificate. If you read the top, its a certificate of live birth, which can be issued up to a year after the child in born.

I read somewhere that Stanley Dunham had a flight record, a month after Barack was born, that had her traveling through Seattle to Hawaii. Seattle was the one US city which was offering international flights to Kenya. Its completely possible that he was in fact born in Kenya and his mother flew home with the baby and then got a certificate of live birth. I'm sure we both see the same movies, its not hard to pay off a desk clerk. Not saying it happened, but its curious why he haven't provided a birth certificate.

Even if you aren't born on US soil(which he still might have been as we have a Military base there(where Kenya now is), which is US soil), if your parents are US citizens then so are you(regardless of where they happened to be when you were born).

Checking out our birth certificate(from our kids), they also just indicate they are a record of live birth. Could be an artifact of the state/county you are in and what forms they use.

Barack is a US citizen. The question 'was he born on US soil', which is a qualification to being a natural born citizen and being eligible for the office of president. There exists the possibility that Barack was born outside of the USA, making him not a natural born citizen.

Remember all that drama surrounding McCain's birth? He was born to two US citizens on a US army base in Panama where his father was stationed. He provided a birth certificate, but since it wasn't within on of the 50 states, there was controversy.

It does vary by state, Hawaii offers both.

Did Hawaii back in 1961?

Anyway.. from the constitution.. "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President..."

Doesn't say born on US soil. "...and the children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond sea, or outside the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born citizens." Even if they were not on a military base, so long as one or more parents were US citizens, the child is automatically.

There is a nice bit in the wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural-born_citizen)

It covers what you said above... McCain wasn't born inside the US. He was born in Panama to US parents. Along those same lines, the wiki article references three previous presidential candidate who were not born inside the USofA. I never heard any controversy regarding it... so no, I don't remember it.

Agreed. One of my two birth certs does say "Certificate of Birth of a United States Citizen Born Abroad." (But those of you who know me can see the operations took. :)

I was born overseas -- Morocco, to be exact. My parents were over there because the US Navy stationed my Dad over there when I happened to be born. So I should be able to run... hmmm... *ponderponderponder*
