Low Air

The car decided this morning that the tire pressure was low and kept warning me. So... I got the air pump(really just a hand bike pump) and pumped up the 'flatest' looking tire. Check the warning light. Hmm.. still on. Okay, pump another. Check. hmm.. Drive a bit to warm up the tires. Still on. Pump up the last two. Ah, finally, the light went out.

My arms are now quite sore and I've got blisters. *sigh*

your car is wicked smart. I'd love to have feature. My old car had experienced 3 flats/blowouts in the time I owned it. I think the dealer just sold the car with shotty tires, but still! I could have caught the blow out before it happened.

My last car almost had a blow out. I brought it in for service and they told me the tires were worn out and needed to be replaced. I went out to the parking lot and checked. They had plenty of tread left. So, I did nothing.

3000 miles later, new oil change, same message, so I told the guy about the previous time and that I didn't really trust them.

Well, he brought me into the bay and up under the car on the lift. The tire part I looked at was still fine. However, the tires were wearing out unevenly. The inner edge was worn through the rubber and had frayed raw metal fibers stick out all over the place. I guess if they didn't have a 'steel belt' I would have blown out.

Doh. 4 new tires.

my blow out was on rt 3 north right after they had opened up the 3rd lane a few years back. I'm nearly sure it was from the construction zone. My rear passenger side tire went, so I was lucky since the front tires can make the car spin out.

I got the car at Harr in Worcester and it only had 14,000 miles on it. The tires all looked fine when I got the car, but they would individually go flat every few months. To my point I got tires for xmas from my parents. haha. well, after the new set I never had any problems. Gotta love Harr! I remember them trying to sell me on a tire replacement plan. Now I know why. They had to have given me a bad set so that I would return. Car dealers are sleazy like that.

I used to live there too and the dealerships were right up the road from campus. I got a Chevy at the Dodge lot. Everything else on the car was fine, it was just the tires.
