Rain rain rain. Boy, is it raining. Very windy too. On the way back from lunch we saw a downed tree. It was blocking someone's driveway on Route 20 and had severed their power/telephone/cables lines.

Hopefully we don't have any leaks at home.

(Anonymous): Headaches...

So, you got your headache while you were driving your car? This enforces my theory that electric hybrid cars are bad for our health. Similar to excessive cell phone usage and households that are near high power electric lines having a higher incidents of cancer.

Those large lead-acid batteries and electrical generators in hybrid and electric cars generate electromagnetic fields that the human body has never before been exposed to!

Some notable quotes from the scientific journals...

“The findings reopen the debate over the effects of electromagnetic radiation, which is emitted by all electrical devices...”

“Objects such as computers, televisions and mobile phones can cause a lack of concentration, headaches and anxiety.”

Note the HEADACHES here. The Electric Generators in hybrid cars would certainly also fall into this category.

“It would seem appropriate to exercise "prudent avoidance" and limit the exposure to you, your family and work colleagues wherever possible.”

lawful_evil: Re: Headaches...

Should I even bother to justify this with a response...

1. The car does not have a 'lead-acid' battery.
2. The human body has been exposed to electromagnetic fields before. The earth generates one strong enough to deflect the solar winds.
3. Electromagnetic radiation, is not an electromagnetic field. Light is electromagnetic radiation. Radar is. Sonar is not. Magnets do not generate electromagnetic radiation, Flashlights do. Microwave ovens generate electromagnetic radiation.
4. Electromagnetic fields do increase the chance of radiation and birth defects. Never use an electric blanket while pregnant. Does field strength affect the chances? No one knows, but I would guess yes. Are the chances of getting cancer raised more by polluting cars or by electromagnetic fields? Pollution and the carcinogens associated with combustion increase the chance of cancer much more than electromagnetic fields do.

Headaches can be caused by all kinds of stuff. Here are just a few of the factors which I experience.
1. Stress
2. Caffeine addiction withdrawl
3. Poor Posture
4. Flu/Cold/Allergies
5. Weather changes
6. Electromagetic radiation from all those damn cellphone towers.
7. Lack of sleep
