waste

We seem to spend lots of time moving people from cube to cube here at Raytheon. This seems to be a big source of waste. It is one thing to have all the people on a project sit together, but it is another thing to move a person 1 office down. They recently moved our department manager 1 door down so that the new incoming department manager could have the office. Why not just put the new guy in the open office?

They are in the process of moving a bunch of people into the lab and bunch of people out of the lab. I'm getting moved. The email was even generic. "I've been asked to move you. If you are in 5-2, I am moving you into the UEWR lab. If you are in the UEWR lab, I am moving you to 5-2." Okay.. but why? I guess I'm stuck on UEWR for a while. It looks like Bill is getting off of it though because they are leaving him in 5-2.
