Woop

Another rainy weekend. It wasn't too bad on Sunday so Aiyre got to run around a bit.

I ordered two free credit reports, as required by MA law, on Friday. I am anxious to see what they contain. They won't give the credit score, as they don't have to by law, so they charge like 10 bucks for a number.

I've got my stuff today, so with luck I will remember to hit the gym for a little bit. I managed to use our exercise bike several times over the weekend. I kind of wish I had the free time and flexability to do one of these cross country bike rides. Lots of exercise, fresh air, and excellent views.

We spoke to the in-laws over Mother's Day and they are coming out for two weeks over this summer, once in the middle and once near Emily's due date. They are looking at Sturbridge as a place to move to.

Okay... a little special relativity...

Here is an experiment which someone has done to prove part of Einstein's special relativity... You've got two clocks, one you leave on the ground, and one you fly around at very high speed. Afterwards, the clock you moved around at high speed is slightly behind the stationary clock.

So.. the closer to the speed of light an object moves, the slower time affects it.

Question... can this experiment be adapted to determine the speed of the earth as it moves around the sun and the sun around the galaxy and the galaxy around the universe?

I think that if you were to get a bunch of clock and send them off in every direction. If you were to check the times on the clocks you should see variations. If the Earth were the center of the universe and everything else moved, but not the Earth, all the clocks would be the same. Given that we think the Earth moves, we should be able to determine the direction and velocity of the movement from the relative times on the clocks.

California here I come. They are sending me back to Beale for a 2 week 'vacation'. They have decided they need someone to replace Fitz, who is vacationing in Wisconsin, I think. I think I'll be flying into SF Monday morning the 16th. I'll probably be staying at the Hilton in Roseville till May 27th.

We had a going away lunch for one of our contractors today. He is starting a Jimmy Fund cross country bike trip next week. LA to Boston in 48 days.
