We recently went from a vacation/sick time policy which allowed for between 2-6 weeks of vacation and 20-60 days of sick time to a policy which provides for 'paid time off' with between 3 and 5 weeks of time off.
Older employees tended to have more vacation time than younger employees. Older employees needed to use the sick time more often than younger employees. They claimed the company wide average was 5 days of sick time used per year.
Under the new policy older employees lost a week of vacation and lost all of their sick time. Younger employees gained a week of vacation and lost sick time, which they didn't tend to use anyway.
This policy pretty clearly turned out to be much worse for older employees. Given the recent Supreme Court rulings... is Raytheon prime for a lawsuit?
