W's assertion that Kerry is a liberal from Massuchusetts I found perplexing. He made it seem like it was supposed to be an insult. I think Kerry is a bit too conservative to represent me and Bush is so far off in right field that I wouldn't even consider ever voting for him. I would consider it a complement to have someone call me liberal.
Excerpts from the full definition of liberal :
a. Not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas; free from bigotry.
b. Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded.
c. Tending to give freely; generous
So... liberals are open minded and tolerant of other people ideas and views. W is playing himself as totally non-liberal... so he is closed-minded, full of bigotry, favoring the status quo, intolerant of the ideas and behavior of others, and skimpy of selfish. Well, that does seem to describe him... I guess he really isn't liberal.
It seems to me that in our(america's) fight against discrimination we need to all become liberal. To become tolerant of others people's behavior and ideas, open to progress.
